I just added a new stocking svg to the craft edge website.  It’s titled Classic Stocking.  This is a quick example of what I did with my svg.  I cut out the stocking in red paper using ‘Blackout’.  I then cut it out in ‘Normal’ in white and snipped the top off.  I glittered the bottom in red and the top with white.  (Remember you don’t have to glitter the top of the stocking because it’ll be covered with the white part.  I made that mistake.)

After I glittered each piece I stuck them between two pieces of paper and ran them through my Cuttlebug.  This just helps adhere the glitter better.  Now that my glitter was good and stuck, I glued the white part to the red.  And, just because I like to overdue things, I ran them through the Cuttlebug again.   Another tip I’ve used if you don’t have a Cuttlebug and you want your sparkles to stay in place is to give them a shot of hairspray!

When the red stocking is done in blackout it won’t have a hole at the top for hanging, so I just put one in once it was all stuck together with a small punch.  I then strung some ribbon through.  Your stocking can then be hung from a doorknob, your tree, used for a scrapbook page, a card, or whatever else you can come up with.  Remember, if you do make something I’d love to post it on my website.  Feel free to email me a photo to info@craftycanada.com!

This is also a great Christmas craft idea for kids.  Last year my son cut out shapes and strung them up in his bedroom at Christmas time!
